Jesus knew all the stories of the Jewish holidays and most of them have to do with how Jewish people overcame the odds to survive. One example is the story of Purim. This happened 550 years before Jesus was born. A very short version of the story of Purim is that the Persian’s King advisor decided that he will kill all the Jewish people in Persia. But the Queen is Jewish and she tells the King what’s going on and the King hangs the advisor before the advisor could kill any Jewish person.
